The months of October and November have been a time of celebration, recognition and engagement with the University community.
The series of 40th anniversary celebrations on each of our campuses wound up on 26 October with the Nathan campus event where staff and students, past and present, gathered at the soon-to-be-opened Campus Heart. Highlights from the last two months include the return of so many alumni to Griffith for the 40th anniversary celebrations, recognising and celebrating the achievements of some of our most outstanding alumni throughout the last two months, and connecting with our international alumni at events held in both Hong Kong and Toronto.
In fact, these international alumni events were the most successful to date and a catalyst for our alumni in Toronto to organise to connect again next year in January to celebrate Australia Day - an event proudly sponsored by Griffith University. Arts, Education and Law celebrate their inaugural Alumni of the Year Awards |

The 2011 inaugural Arts, Education and Law Alumni Awards were held on Tuesday 8th November at the Ballroom Terrace, Victoria Park, Herston. A total of nine awards were presented during the evening.

Peter Hegedus’ film a favourite at the Global Peace Film Festival |

An inspiring alumni from the Griffith Film School, Peter's My America was recently included in the program of the Global Peace Film Festival.
The Global Peace Film Festival was launched in 2003 as a kind of response to the invasion of lraq. His previous documentary Inheritance: A Fisherman's Story (2003) was invited to participate in that year and took out the major award at the Festival with a significant cash prize. Read more | | |

Griffith graduate, Eva Milic needs little introduction. As the Channel Nine Queensland Weekend News presenter, part time presenter for Nine Gold Coast News and general reporter, Eva is a familiar face on Queensland television.
Prior to having daughter Lucia in January 2010, Eva enjoyed a stint as the weekend weather pre- senter with Heather Foord. This followed a very successful two years at the helm of the Nine Gold Coast News desk. Read more | | |
